PASTORE

BEST NEW BISTRO

PASTORE

SHORTLISTED BY BISTRONAUT #5

WHO
Palermo-born chef Lorenzo Sciabica (ex-Osteria Ferrara) works as the clever capocuoco along with pastry chef Giuseppe Massimo.

FOOD
The food is Italian from head to toe, and while the appetizers and desserts don't always hit it out of the park their pasta is impeccable and will leave you asking for more.
- Juicy heirloom tomatoes with beans, anchovies and ricotta infornata (cooked in the oven) to start
- Among the short list of mouth-watering pasta choices, we went for the incredible freshly made lobster spaghetti served al dente, that had us practically licking the plate clean
- And for dessert strawberries with lemon-verbena sorbet and a timut pepper cream

DRINKS
There’s a 100% Italian wine collection concocted by Emma Hayes, who also used to work at Osteria Ferrara, including:
- a perfect San Fremo prosecco - €7 a glass
- a red Dolcetto-di-Dogliani from Francesco Versio in Piedmont - €36 a bottle

DECOR
A newcomer to rue Bergère, the well-named Pastore (“berger” in French or “shepherd” in English) can be seen from far away thanks to its yellow façade. Tucked away behind it, you’ll find a chic, authentic trattoria (marble tables, 60s chairs, a giant mirror)

NOISE
Just the noise of a fan on a hot summer's day.

SEATING
Pretty marble tables with 1960s chairs.

VIBE
You’d almost think you were in the South… of Italy! Yet nestled in the center of Paris.

SERVICE
Efficient.

WOULD RECOMMEND
Would recommend again and again for that buttery lobster pasta.
