BEST NEW BISTRO

DOUBLE DRAGON

SHORTLISTED BY BISTRONAUT #5

WHO
Hit Parisian restaurateur sisters Tatiana Levha (chef) and Katia Levha (wine and service) along with Antoine Villard (chef de cuisine).

FOOD
A long menu of spicy, exciting Chinese dishes utilizing fresh French ingredients and taking inspiration from the sisters' Philippino heritage. Among this long list, some recent favorites:
- Popcorn-style vinegar-fried broccoli with spicy mayo (€6,5)
- Super spicy and numbing Yam Woon Sen noodles (vermicelli) with shrimp and veggies (€9)
- Fresh XL bonito spring roll (€10)
- Housemade longanisa sausage (a Philippino speciality) with house Sriracha (€12)
- Finger-licking good pricpao chicken wings (€13)
- Sweet Blondie brownie with Muscovado (€7)

DRINKS
A little something for everyone: Gin sour with chili salt €14), Jurassien beer from Guillaume Overnoy (€16 for a bottle), Sébastien Brunet Vouvray (€8) or a red from Ludovic Engelvin in the Gard (€7)

DECOR
Colorful orange tables, illuminated neon dragon wall mount, open kitchen and mirrors.

NOISE
Mainstream Hip Hop and 90s throwback tunes (think “Thong Song” by Sisqo) which can sometimes make it difficult to concentrate on what your tablemate is saying.

SEATING
A few stools at the bar, and then semi-comfortable orange tables and wooden chairs throughout the rest of the restaurant.

VIBE
Fun-loving neighborhood crowd and out-of-towners who have read all of the restaurant’s great press.

SERVICE
Kind, Hawaian-shirt wearing staff.

WOULD RECOMMEND
For your semi-adventurous friends who can’t quite seem to make it to Belleville.
